New Christian churches are experiencing spectacular growth, particularly in Africa. While they are attracting a growing number of followers, it is notable that women are joining them far more often than men. Catherine Guirkinger, a professor and researcher in development economics, examines this gendered phenomenon of religious conversion and the economic mechanisms underlying it. This original research has just received prestigious WelCHANGE funding through the 2025 call for proposals from the F.R.S-FNRS. 

Since 2022, all faculty members and students at the Faculty of Law have been working together around a common theme that guides every educational activity in the same direction. From classes, assignments, and lectures to public speaking competitions, moot courts, and cultural activities, every effort is made to foster an inspiring and values-driven environment. Le Fil Rouge thus contributes to the uniqueness of Namur’s educational approach. Behind this collective project are professors Marie Amélie Delvaux and Élise Defreyne. They explain the approach and the challenges involved in this initiative.
