Overview

This new 120-credit master’s program, the only one of its kind in Belgium, combines rigorous academic training with a sustained, paid internship in a company. 

It emphasizes managerial practices related to the digital transformation of businesses, which is essential for adapting to constant changes in the economic and technological environment. 

Improving operational efficiency and the customer experience, accessing new markets, innovating products and services, redefining business models… the opportunities offered by a company’s digital transformation are numerous and help maintain a competitive position in the market. 

Your goals

  • develop the rigor and critical thinking skills expected of a high-quality university education; 
  • master the knowledge, methods, and tools of various management disciplines (finance, marketing, human resources, strategy, organization, operations management, management information systems, etc.) and their integration from a cross-functional perspective; 
  • develop specific skills related to the digital transformation of the company: 
    • understand the challenges and impact of digital transformation on the company’s business model; 
    • master new technologies and information management techniques in the context of and driving digital transformation processes; 
    • identify business opportunities; 
    • learn to design a digital strategy and integrate digital technologies into the company’s processes and activities.

    You’ll benefit from instruction by expert professors from UNamur and UCLouvain and graduate with degrees from both universities. 

  • A customizable academic experience 

    In addition to courses focused on digital transformation, you choose your specialization and elective courses, your partner company, and the topic of your thesis. Furthermore, you’ll benefit from a partially online course offering to minimize your travel. 

  • A 4-semester paid internship 

    You will join teams of professionals in the strategy, marketing, finance, and regulatory departments to complete your internship—3 days per week at the start of the program and 4 days per week toward the end. You will be paid throughout this entire period. 

  • A thesis-project 

    Your thesis is directly linked to your real-world experience in the workplace. 

The program

You choose your home institution—UNamur or UCLouvain—and that institution will coordinate your work-study placements, language courses, and thesis supervision. To minimize travel, you’ll benefit from a course offering that includes some distance learning.

Specializations 

  • “Finance” track: portfolio management, investment strategies, how stock exchanges and financial markets operate, investment techniques, derivatives, risk management and its international dimension, social and sustainable finance, corporate finance—particularly financing methods—and financial analysis. 
  • "Services & Marketing Management" track (unique in Belgium): developing skills related to marketing, operations, IT, technology, law, and human resources in the service sector: understanding your customers and acquiring new ones, developing high-performing products or services, and standing out in a competitive, communication-driven, and technology-focused environment. 
  • Theme: “Organizational and Innovation Management”: training future managers capable of managing and supporting people and organizations from a critical, reflective, and people-centered perspective in the workplace. 
  • Theme: “Digital Information Management”: Grasping the various opportunities offered by digital technologies, understanding their diverse impacts on management processes, understanding how these technologies must be managed and integrated, supporting organizations in implementing cutting-edge technological solutions, and adopting a critical perspective on the challenges of digital technologies.
