Submitting a request early allows for optimal support through the potential implementation of accommodations for classes and lab work from the start of the four-month term.
Deadlines for Submitting an Application for ESH Status
To obtain EBS/ESH status, students must meet the following deadlines:
- During the first quarter:
- Submit the application by October 15 (Part A via the online form)
- Complete the application by October 31 (Part B, supporting documents)
- In the second quadrimester: Submit the application by March 1; finalize the application by March 15.
Documents may be submitted by email or mail.
If you apply for EBS/ESH status, you may be eligible for a reduction in your annual course load.

The required supporting documents vary depending on the disorder, disability, or medical condition (see the detailed procedure available below).
For specific written language and math disorders, a comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluation is required. These supporting documents must be recent (less than 2 years old at the time the application is submitted) and detailed. They must not only confirm the diagnosis but also explain its impact on academic performance or learning, thereby justifying the implementation of accommodations.
Please note: Wait times for appointments with a specialist or for assessments can sometimes be long.
Procedure for Renewing the Individualized Support Plan (PAI)
This status is valid for the entire duration of the student’s studies. The PAI, signed by the student, the EBS/ESH advisor, and the faculty advisor, is valid only for the current academic year.
It must therefore be renewed each academic year with the CMP—the office for students with disabilities—by visiting their office hours or sending an email.
To renew their PAI, students must meet the following deadlines:
- in the first quadrimester: submit the request by October 31
- in the second quadrimester: submit the request by March 1
If a student requests changes to their PAI during the academic year, the same deadlines apply.
