Pope Leo XIV’s publication last May of the encyclical *Magnifica Humanitas: On the Protection of the Human Person in the Age of Artificial Intelligence* resonated far beyond the Catholic Church. Many hailed it as the first document to offer a comprehensive vision capable of addressing the challenges posed by AI. More broadly, the Pope seeks to chart a path toward peace and the common good amid current political, technological, and social developments. At the invitation of the Notre-Dame de la Paix Chair, several speakers will share the encyclical’s main guidelines and encourage us to reflect on the actions it calls us to take.

Speakers:

  • Gemma Serrano, theologian, Collège des Bernardins & Loyola Faculties, Paris
  • Thierry Magnin, priest, theologian, and physicist; Rector Emeritus of the Catholic University of Lyon and the Catholic University of Lille
  • Samuel Cogolati, Ph.D. in international law, Executive Director of Caritas International
  • Marcel Rémon, S.J., mathematician, director of CERAS (Center for Research and Social Action)

Moderator: Bosco d’Otreppe, journalist at La Libre Belgique.

Free admission.
