The course offers an overview (partial and subjective) of European art from the 15th to the 18th centuries.
In order to establish the key points of reference for the history of art in the Early modern period, we shall highlight the major artists and centres of artistic production, famous works and a number of recurring themes. Basic concepts and specialist terminology will also be introduced. An introductory guide to the analysis of works of art will also be provided from a historical perspective.
This course does not include any specific exercises.

The examination is written: the first part consists of multiple-choice questions; the second part consists of open-ended questions.
