About

Biography

Julie Henry holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on didactics. She spent eight years working in education sciences before diving into STEM. Since December 2022, she has been working as a STEAM project manager. Her work primarily focuses on representations and stereotypes related to fields of study, careers, and gender. As an expert in computer science education, she is a member of the EduCoNum chair on digital education and the scientific committee of the SETT education fair. As a committed feminist, she actively contributes to UNamur’s gender committee. In parallel with her STEAM institutional missions, Julie is a part-time post-doctoral fellow on the IAGen4Students project, which studies interactions between students and a virtual assistant set up as part of a physics course.

Outside of academia, Julie has a knack for hands-on skills: she’s a beekeeper and has studied artistic ironwork. With a sharp mind and a talent for ideation, she loves exploring interdisciplinary intersections to rethink educational and scientific approaches.
