"Chez Marsha" welcomes young people for evenings with a variety of themes: film screenings, debates, talks by associations, board games, Spanish hostels, etc.

Gender, diversity and inclusion policy at UNamur

UNamur has been fighting gender discrimination for many years. Within Rector Annick Castiaux's team, François-Xavier Fiévez is the Vice-Rector is in charge of Diversity and Gender. The rectoral team intends to affirm its determination to maintain voluntary and reasoned policies in this area.

Since 2014, UNamur, like all French-speaking universities in Belgium, has had a Gender Committee. The latter carries out three main missions covering all aspects relating to gender issues specific to its institution: informing, raising awareness and networking / being networked. By doing so, it contributes to the implementation and development of gender policy within its institution. He/she follows the policy line defined by the Vice-Rectorate in charge of gender.

Several actions have been implemented. Note, for example, the "Gender Equality Plan" which UNamur has set up to address gender imbalances within the institution. The university also participated in the Guide d'accompagnement pour l'inclusion des personnes trans dans l'enseignement supérieur en Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles published by ARES and the Equal Opportunities Directorate of the Ministry of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

UNamur also collaborates with the CHEFF, a youth organization recognized by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, bringing together 7 associative poles whose members are young Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Trans, Queers, Intersex and Asexuals (LGBTQIA+).

A Master's degree in gender studies

The Master of Specialization in Gender Studies is a program that trains experts in issues related to gender, gender equality and sexuality in all sectors, and thus participates in the fight against discrimination.

This training in gender studies pools the expertise of the six universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in this field, by creating or federating specific and original teaching units.
