I was drawn to the wide variety of degree programs offered, but also to the campus, which I liked right away. Its size, its family-like atmosphere, and its location right in the heart of the city make it an ideal setting for studying.
Geography lies at the intersection of the natural and social sciences. It encompasses many fields (such as economics, ecology, geology, and more) and opens the door to career opportunities in a wide variety of sectors: renewable energy, land-use planning, geopolitics, migration, health, climate change, natural hazard management, and more.
For the past three years, I’ve been part of the Revue Sciences, first as an actress, then as the actors’ representative, and soon as president. It’s the perfect activity for putting together a project, meeting people from your faculty, and above all, having fun! Behind the comedy show, the Revue also helps develop a wide range of skills: set design, lighting, editing, communication, acting…
For me, being a student ambassador is an opportunity to engage in my first enriching professional experience while continuing my studies with peace of mind. It’s also a chance to advise prospective students and introduce them to the field of geography. My role is to serve as a bridge between high school students and the university: we represent UNamur while presenting a relatable and accessible picture of student life.
Attending classes and taking notes is the first step toward mastering the material and avoiding feeling lost during exam prep. But don’t get too caught up in your studies either: college is the perfect time to have new experiences and build connections.
Studying at UNamur is like being part of a family—it’s enjoyable and always has a great atmosphere.
