Financial Assistance
For students who are already enrolled, several forms of financial aid are available and may be granted based on specific criteria and individual circumstances to support their studies and help them succeed. The Student Services Office is also available to assist with administrative issues, budget management, family matters, relationship problems, and challenges adapting to academic life and campus life, among other concerns.
Prospective students can also contact our social workers to obtain information about financial aid for the upcoming academic year.
Financial Assistance for Tuition Payments
Tuition fees are indexed in higher education. More information is available on the Registration Office’s page. The Social Services Unit may grant specific financial aid to cover tuition fees, based on criteria specific to UNamur. More information will be available here soon.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, the application form for this assistance—formerly known as the “tuition reduction/loan”—is available only upon request through August 30, 2026, inclusive. Download the 2025–2026 criteria
"Tuition Balance" Loan
This interest-free loan allows you to spread out the payment of the remaining tuition balance (either €324, €785, or €1,144) over several monthly installments during the academic year.
Short-Term Loan
This loan provides financial assistance, an advance on the study allowance from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, or any other scholarship.
Financial Assistance for the Purchase of a Computer (or Tablet)
This assistance covers a portion of the costs for students who have purchased a computer or who wish to purchase one (new or refurbished).
The UNamur Scholarship
The amount of this grant takes into account the student’s budget and the family’s theoretical financial contribution (or that of the student or their partner).
The Special “Exams” Allowance
The Social Services Office may grant a specific “exams” allowance to students who work part-time regularly to cover some or all of their educational expenses, allowing them to focus more fully on their exam sessions (January and/or June).
Other Financial Assistance
The following financial aid options are available only to Belgian students and those considered equivalent.
The Internship and Study Abroad Loan
Intended for master’s or specialized master’s students undertaking an internship or study abroad program in Belgium or abroad. The 2025–2026 internship and study abroad loan application is no longer available.
The Complementary Master’s Loan

The “La Solidarithèque” Solidarity Grocery Store

Equipment Loan
If you are experiencing problems with your computer equipment, you can borrow a laptop.
Course Load Reduction for Serious Social Reasons
The exemption for serious social reasons allows you to reduce the scope of your annual study program (PAE)—that is, to create a PAE containing fewer than 60 credits—based on a serious social circumstance that arose during the academic year.
The Social Services Office will process these requests from October 1, 2026, until the end of registration for the June exams, which is March 1, 2027.
The application form for a reduced course load due to serious social circumstances for the 2026–2027 academic year will be available from the Social Services Office starting September 16, 2026.
