This course aims to deepen basic knowledge, the analytical tools, and methodological thinking. It will also involve getting familiar with contextualization from a historical perspective.
The artistic production of the Early Modern period (excluding architecture) will be looked to through thematic, iconographic, or monographic modules. Each topic will let you explore one or more periods of the Early Modern era and to consider various mediums like painting, sculpture, miniature, tapestry, engraving, ...

The presentation of the topics will be accompanied by image projections and readings (which will be available through WebCampus). Students are encouraged to actively participate in the sessions to practice analyzing the works.
