Why did you choose to study at UNamur?

Several factors influenced my decision, but it was my visit during the open house that confirmed my desire to study there. The faculty and students who were there were very welcoming and took the time to answer my questions and explain how the university works.

Another major plus for me is UNamur’s location. All the faculties are close to one another, which makes getting from one class to another quick and easy. And the city of Namur offers an ideal living environment: I live in a student apartment, and everything is within walking distance—whether it’s the university, my badminton practices, the train station, or even the shops.

Why did you choose to study economics and business administration?

When I was in high school, math was my favorite subject. At the same time, I was very curious to understand how the world works: the role of countries and companies, the management of taxes and debt, decision-making, and even how the stock market works.

The Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management seemed to combine both: it incorporates mathematics while offering a wide variety of courses, which I find particularly stimulating and fun.

I particularly appreciate the variety of subjects we study, as well as the various hands-on projects, which allow us to better apply and understand the concepts covered in class through “learning by doing.”

Finally, the course I like best is “Microeconomics” because it helps us understand, in particular, how consumers (that is, ourselves) think and how businesses operate.

Could you tell us more about your role at JEN Consult?

At JEN Consult, I am a member of the events team. My main responsibility is to organize and plan the Junior Enterprise’s various events, such as conferences.

This experience allows me to manage real-world projects, which require organization, teamwork, and foresight. I particularly appreciate the connections I’ve been able to build with the other students at JEN Consult. They’ve become true friends, which makes this experience truly memorable for me.

What advice would you give to a prospective student?

Before starting college, I felt like I’d never make it, because they put a lot of pressure on us in high school by constantly telling us that college is extremely difficult. It’s certainly not easy, but it’s entirely possible to succeed. Stress, on the other hand, can cause us to fail. That’s why the best advice I can give to a future student is to stay calm. College is a great experience: don’t stop yourself from going out and enjoying it. It’s entirely possible to balance academic success with a social life!
