A word from the Dean
I'm delighted to welcome you to the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Namur, a pioneering faculty with a rich history spanning more than half a century, and driven by the ambition to put informatics at the service of collective well-being and personal development.
Digital technology is at the heart of the major transitions of our times. It is participating in the profound transformation of many fields including health, education, industry, work, mobility, or artistic creation.
In this context, IT is a science that is no longer limited to purely technical knowledge and skills: it has become a key to understanding, progress and responsibility in the face of our society's challenges and issues.
By joining our faculty, you'll do much more than learn to design computer systems. You'll learn to think globally, critically and responsibly about digital innovation.
You'll benefit from demanding training and innovative pedagogy, combining scientific rigor, project-based learning and the development of your cross-disciplinary skills: autonomy, collaborative work, communication, creativity, critical thinking.
Throughout your course, you'll be able to count on a motivated and available teaching team, keen to offer you a stimulating and caring learning environment, with support tailored to each individual's needs right from the start of the curriculum.
Our scientific research, which continually enriches our teaching courses, will enable you to acquire the most up-to-date knowledge and skills in a constantly evolving discipline.
Finally, the faculty maintains close collaborations with numerous partners, both in Belgium and abroad: universities, research centers, companies, public institutions and administrations, associative fabric. It will thus offer you multiple opportunities for engagement, internships, projects and encounters.
We look forward to welcoming you, to help you realize your projects, and to contribute together to a fairer, more responsible and more humane digital society.
Welcome one and all!
