Goals

Seminar :

The objective of the first day of seminar is to familiarise students with a key piece of legislation regulating the information society, namely the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This seminar also allows students to learn basic negotiation techniques.

The second day of the seminar aims to familiarise students with the basic concepts of risk analysis and risk management.

The consideration of the issues and challenges involved in a project, as well as the need to balance competing considerations before making any decision, will be trained through practical exercises.

Students’ personal reflection will be encouraged, with learning partly based on the principles of the flipped classroom.

Teaching methods

Seminar :

The presentation of the DMA is carried out in the form of an ex cathedra teaching. The negotiation exercises are based on an active participation (sometimes in groups) of the students. These exercises are followed by a debrief to highlight negotiation tips and techniques.

The approach of risk management will be based on practical case studies. The teacher will present students with scenarios and invite them to identify the risks, define a risk management strategy and, ultimately, present and defend that strategy in order to get it approved by the organisation’s decision-making bodies.
