Jérôme Bouvy, Hospital philosopher

After studying philosophy at UNamur and a few years as a teacher, Jérôme Bouvy became the first hospital philosopher at the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi. His missions: to bring philosophy as a living practice to the heart of his institution's day-to-day operations, and to support workers in their quest for meaning in their work.

New training courses and pedagogical innovations in 2024 at UNamur

Two new Master's degree specializations are on offer from the start of the new academic year. One will provide training in general medicine, the other in the management and economics of sustainable development. Other pedagogical innovations in existing course programs are also proposed, including a course designed to train block students in the challenges of Artificial Intelligence and develop their critical thinking skills to use AI in a relevant way. Through these innovations and new features, UNamur is demonstrating its ability to constantly adapt its educational offering in response to changes in society.

Big data and artificial intelligence

NADI offers extensive expertise in artificial intelligence: bio-inspired robotics, robust, interactive, interpretable and safe machine learning, automatic program verification, declarative programming, business intelligence, knowledge representation and automatic software testing. This has already led to numerous collaborations with medical experts, industry and civil society. Along with other areas of expertise at NADI, AI experts are also exploring the educational, ethical, societal and legal implications of AI.
