In 2021, five projects were selected in the framework of the call for CANDLE 2021 projects (for a sustainable campus). These projects were led by staff members and/or students of the UNamur and financed by the Fonds Jérôme. Among them, the May'AGE project.

In January 2023, Professor Romain Houssa of UNamur led a Belgian delegation to formulate a new ARES Institutional Support (IS) programme at the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) in Benin. This multidisciplinary research and innovation support programme aims to strengthen scientific collaboration between FWB researchers and Benin as well as other countries in the West African region, notably Togo, Niger and Burkina Faso.

This is a first in terms of pedagogical approach: to have all the students and teachers of the Faculty of law, all blocks (bachelor in daytime and in staggered timetable) and programmes combined, work for an academic year on the same theme. From courses to practical work, including conferences, cultural and artistic events and civic engagement, all the activities proposed by the Faculty of law focus on the same theme: childhood in a migratory context. The project is called "Fill rouge" (Red thread). After a successful first four months, the momentum is building for the second half of the academic year.

This is a historic signature for the University of Namur: since December, it is part of the European alliance European Space University for Earth and Humanity (UNIVERSEH), which focuses on the theme of space. This is a real recognition of the UNamur expertise in the field of space, and a gateway to new international collaborations in both teaching and research, in a field that is a source of employment and socio-economic development.

The UNamur General Assembly of Students (AGE) has a new permanent member. A social worker by training, this young man from Namur already has a long experience in the cultural, youth and event sectors. François Lejeune took office on 18 January 2023. Interview.

On 19 January 2023, Rector Annick Castiaux had the pleasure of welcoming to the University of Namur the Consul General and Chargé d'Affaires of the Philippine Embassy, Mr Pablito A. A bilingual French-sign language dictionary (LSFB), which can be queried in both languages, thanks to cutting-edge technology (facial recognition) and access to a vast database compiling more than 4,500 signs, words and expressions.
