The PTCI platform at the University of Namur provides access to computing resources designed to meet the needs of researchers and students in High Performance Computing (HPC). With its powerful computing resources and large data storage capacities, the PTCI facilitates the completion of numerous research projects while offering opportunities in fields as varied as biology, mathematics, astronomy, organic and inorganic materials, optics, and AI.

Center for Research in Regional Economics and Economic Policy

The CERPE studies issues of major interest related to regional economic analysis and economic policy. The center's areas of expertise are rooted in spatial and regional economics, interregional and international economics, industrial and competition economics, labor and personnel economics, the economics of entrepreneurship and innovation, public economics and public finance.In keeping with its mission, the research carried out combines both theoretical and applied work, with a particular focus on Wallonia in the Belgian institutional landscape.

The Notre-Dame de la Paix University Center (CuNDP) is a research center at the ESPHIN Institute of Philosophy at the University of Namur.  The Notre-Dame de la Paix Chair is a project that studies the relationships between faith and reason, science and religion, and the common good in dialogue with scientists and practitioners from different disciplines and faiths.

Development Finance & Public Policies

DeFiPP consolidates the research work carried out in three pre-existing centers, CRED, CEREFIM and CERPE, each of which represents one of the three main areas of research: development economics, public policy and regional economics and finance, and monetary economics. DeFiPP's main objective is to promote excellent research in economics and finance, with a high international profile, using economic methodology, both in theory and empirical research, which is the common link between the clusters. Cross-fertilization will take place through the joint sharing of new methods or approaches.

Laurent Schumacher

Laurent Schumacher has been Professor of Telecommunications and Computer Networks at the Faculty of Computer Science since 2003. He has also served two terms as Faculty Vice-Dean, from 2012 to 2016 and from 2020 to 2021. Since the Marcourt decree, Laurent Schumacher has also been involved in the development of IT tools for the administrative management of training courses. He will be appointed Vice-Rector in 2021 and First Vice-Rector in 2025.
