The University has three university residences. One is for boys only (RUE), another is for girls (RUEE), and the third is mixed (Le Carmel). Students staying at the RUE or RUEE benefit from supervision by educators.

The University of Namur organizes or participates in several information evenings on higher education for students at the end of secondary school. During these evenings, students and parents have the opportunity to take part in two information hubs led by professors from the University of Namur and/or UCLouvain and representatives from Hautes Ecoles.

The Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory (LCT) develops expertise in theoretical and quantum chemistry.Research is focused on the development and application of methods for evaluating and interpreting the properties responsible for optical and electrical phenomena in molecules, supramolecular assemblies, polymers and molecular crystals. A majority of these studies are integrated into multidisciplinary research projects aimed at designing new materials with outstanding properties.

As part of the DoME (Dynamics of Membranes & Endocytosis) team, we seek to uncover how cell membranes—true living boundaries—deform, adapt, and communicate with their environment. Our research aims to elucidate the role of these fundamental processes in physiological and pathological contexts, such as cancer or infections.

Since 2023, the UNamur University Observatory on Rural Medicine (OUMRu) has been addressing the issue of the dwindling supply of general practitioners, particularly in underserved areas of Wallonia, with the aim of identifying potential solutions in collaboration with stakeholders on the ground. Closely linked to the Master’s degree in General Practice, offered as a joint program with UCLouvain, the OUMRu carries out activities in the areas of teaching and interdisciplinary research. It also organizes events that give a voice to stakeholders on the ground. 

The HoMER team is working on the pharmacological modulation of the secretory pathway, specifically targeting the first major regulatory step in protein trafficking: the exit from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) at the ER exit sites (ERES). The team is studying the effects of ERES on cellular homeostasis, as well as identifying new compounds capable of modulating protein trafficking.
