Learning outcomes

To understand how a tumor grows and resists to therapies will be described, taking into account the knowledge developed during the first part of the course (master 1). The mechanisms of inflammation will also be described. Different techniques commonly used in cell biology will be explained

Goals

To be able to read and understand a scientific article published in English that describes experimental results in the field of cell biology, mainly related to cancer or to inflammation

Content

  • carcinogenesis: key factors

  • apoptosis

  • cell responses to hypoxia

  • anti-cancer treatments

  • inflammation: lipid mediators

  • inflammation: cytokines
