This is a significant honor for two members of the UNamur School of Medicine: Professor Charlotte Beaudart, who heads the "clinical research" track of the Master’s program in biomedical sciences, and Professor Jonathan Douxfils (School of Medicine, URPC – NARILIS) have just joined the College of Young Researchers of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium.

How does information circulate in today’s society? And how can we communicate in a way that is both effective and creative, yet also critical and responsible? By becoming communication and journalism professionals working for media outlets, companies, and organizations, you’ll learn to decode these messages and make your voice heard amid this flood of information.

How can governments and citizens respond to the climate crisis? Why is the far right winning elections? What are the ways to resolve armed conflicts? Does the European Union have a future after Brexit? Political science provides analytical tools for studying these issues.   The Bachelor’s degree in Political Science is a cutting-edge program for those who wish to understand the transformations of contemporary societies and become active participants in NGOs, governments, businesses, and European and international institutions. 

Increasingly demanding workloads, an imbalance between work and personal life, and greater performance scrutiny… the world of work is undergoing profound changes. In this context, how can we enable individuals to remain engaged and find lasting fulfillment in their professional lives? A new ARC research project called “SUSCARE” proposes an innovative solution: placing the concept of care at the heart of organizational practices.

After nine years at the helm, Professor Jean-Pierre Gillet has handed over the leadership of the Department of Biomedical Sciences to Professor Marielle Boonen. This is an opportunity to look back on the significant growth of this department, which now trains nearly 500 students each year. 

Extensive deliberations have been conducted to strengthen the fundamental research focus of the Master’s program in Biomedical Sciences at UNamur by integrating the curriculum from the Master’s program in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology (BBMC). This ambitious project has led to the design of an entirely new program, conceived to fully leverage the complementary strengths of these two programs. 

New markets, increased competition, technological advances, but also ecological, energy, political and quality of life issues... The challenges to be met are numerous and the needs are constantly growing. The F.R.S.-FNRS published on June 25, 2024, the list of winners of the various doctoral and postdoctoral mandates. Among them, 16 researchers from the University of Namur have obtained funding.

As part of the English course of the Bachelor in Science and Medicine, students are introduced to the oral popularisation of scientific concepts. This year, these future biologists, chemists, geologists/geographers or pharmacists expressed themselves in the form of videos inspired by the famous French science popularisation programme, "C'est pas sorcier". A competition to choose the best video has been launched as part of the Printemps des sciences.

From 17 April 2023, UNamur will host two prestigious international Francqui Chairs. Professor Timoteo Carletti (Department of Mathematics - naXys Institute) will host Professor Ginestra Bianconi, one of the leading experts on networks and high-order structures. Professor Romain Houssa (Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences and Management - DeFiPP Institute) will welcome Professor Karel Mertens, an expert in macroeconomics.

On July 1, 2025, the F.R.S.-FNRS published the list of winners of the various doctoral and postdoctoral mandates, Télévie projects and co-financing with the Fonds de recherche du Québec. Among these, many UNamur researchers were awarded funding. UNamur's particularly high ranking rate demonstrates the quality and excellence of research on the Namur campus.
