Preparatory courses From the beginning of November, the University of Namur is offering preparatory courses for the medical entrance exam.These courses are devoted to the revision of the four scientific subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology), and a preparation for the "Communication and critical analysis of information" section. These courses are also designed to teach you to master the specific techniques of this type of MCQ (multiple-choice questionnaire)-based test. Practically, in each discipline, the program offers many opportunities to practice this type of question, and a module is devoted to how to prepare for and answer MCQs. This is a non-obligatory aid that also requires a personal investment to prepare you for the competition. Two sessions are offered throughout the year. Preparatory courses Discover university education and life at UNamur while revising the subjects essential for your future training.To get your first year of study off to a good start, UNamur is offering a program of preparatory courses in mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry and university work methodology during the last two weeks of August.Among these subjects, physics and chemistry are compulsory. You select 2 other subjects from mathematics, biology or university work methodology.These courses enable you to: revise knowledge acquired in high school; perfect your working methods thanks to advice from teachers and specific study methods courses; meet assistants and professors on a more informal basis before the start of the academic year; discover the university (its infrastructure and services); create your first links with other students. The Molecular Physiology Research Unit (URPhyM) addresses several fundamental research topics in normal and pathological molecular physiology in the Departments of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Biomedical Sciences.

The Faculty of Medicine comprises 4 departments. It is managed by various advisory and decision-making bodies. It has services common to the entire faculty.

General medicine is a clinical specialty focused on primary care with its own unique characteristics: varied activities covering all fields of medicine, a comprehensive and longitudinal approach centered on people of all ages, and intervention at an early and undifferentiated stage of disease development. The general practitioner is the central figure in their patients' health and establishes a lasting and privileged relationship of trust with them. 

The fight against disease is both a science and an art. Knowledge of human beings, pathologies and medicines is the key to fighting disease. But the essence of the medical art is practiced in contact with patients, who are looking for a doctor who is rigorous, with solid knowledge and sound reasoning, but who is also deeply warm and human.
