The winners of the MT180 competition 2023 edition
On 24 March, the regional competition My Thesis in 180 seconds (MT180), a competition to popularise knowledge and research, took place at the UNamur. Introduced by Carine Michiels, Vice-Rector for Research and Libraries, and presented by Anne-Sophie Bruyndonxckx, this 2023 edition brought together 12 candidates from the Faculties of science, law and computer science.

AGC Glass supports the Specularia experimental archaeology project
This is a first at the UNamur: a team of archaeologists will soon be testing an experimental protocol to reproduce the process of shaping glass in Roman times. Entitled Specularia (Latin for "glass"), this project has the support of several associations and companies, including AGC Glass Europe.

2022: An astronomical year
The University of Namur has always studied, taught, and transmitted its passion for astronomy. The archives of the university library show that scientists were already scanning the Namur sky in the 19th century. Today, a lot of excellent and international research is being carried out at UNamur - among others, in the naXys research institute (Namur Institute for Complex Systems).

Johan Barthelemy: from the Mathematics Department to Antarctica
After undergraduate and graduate studies in applied mathematics at UNamur, Johan Barthelemy joined the University of Wollongong (UoW) in Australia. An expert in artificial intelligence, he now works for NVIDIA while devoting part of his time to research, mainly for the Securing Antarctica's Environmental Future (SAEF) program. A commitment that led him to participate recently in a mission to Antarctica.
