Wallonia: how UNamur is a key player in the socio-economic fabric
The University of Namur actively participates in the development of Wallonia's socio-economic fabric. Indeed, there are numerous partnerships and synergies between companies and researchers at our institution. Thanks to the Walloon recovery plan, UNamur has also been able to acquire several pieces of cutting-edge scientific equipment, which will be integrated into existing technology platforms, enriching the expertise of researchers and enabling them to offer more services.

UCLouvain and UNamur form alliance to strengthen research and teaching
UNamur and UCLouvain have formed a university alliance. This university alliance, Louvain Namur ensemble (AULNE), brings together 48,000 students, i.e. almost 45% of university students in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, as well as more than 8,000 members of staff. The aim? To step up existing collaboration in research and teaching, with the aim of achieving ever greater quality and relevance, for the benefit of students and society as a whole. In concrete terms, this is not a merger but a coming together to defend shared values and a common university model.

On 21 and 22 September 2023, for the 4th year running, Belgian researchers came together for the bePOM conference. The format was original, with a virtual day and a hybrid day combining virtual and face-to-face sessions. A great success, and a Belgian network that is growing from strength to strength.

After the success of HECTOR's first season across more than 45 countries, the podcast is renewed for a second and final season. AI and robotics as sources of solutions in the medical sector
TEF-Health: Testing and Experimentation Facilities for Health AI and Robotics is a major European project aimed at the rapid adoption of solutions based on artificial intelligence and robotics in the medical sector. UNamur, with the expertise of its Centre de Recherche Information Droit et Société (CRIDS), is a partner in this project.

Teaching in the field: students observe nature on an internship in Bavaria

Aiming for student well-being: results of a study in the Faculty of Medicine
"Take care of yourself to better take care of others" - this is the mantra guiding a wellness workshop for second-year medical students as part of the General Psychology course taught by Martin Desseilles, professor at the University of Namur. Taught by Laura Demarthe, psychologist and didactic associate in the Department of Psychology, the workshop aims to equip future doctors with tools to cultivate their physical, mental and social well-being. Professors at UNamur recently conducted a study on this initiative.

CERTAINTY | A virtual twin of cellular immunotherapy for personalized cancer treatment
The University of Namur is involved in the European CERTAINTY project, an initiative led by the German Fraunhofer Institute to explore new avenues in cancer treatment. Launched in December 2023, this European consortium is funded by the European Union - Horizon Europe program - to the tune of almost 10 million euros over the next 4.5 years.

DJESA: awareness-raising and interdisciplinarity in medical education
On Friday, March 1, the Faculty of Medicine hosted a Half Day of Exchange on Food Sovereignty (DJESA), organized by the UNI4COOP consortium, Humundi and Vétérinaires Sans Frontières. Led by Professor Grégoire Wiëers, Director of UNamur's Department of Medicine, and Caroline Canon, Master of Didactics, this event was dedicated to Block 2 students in medicine, pharmacy and biomedical sciences.
