The KaP Assembly, more commonly known as AaàP, is a body of the General Assembly of the University of Namur students which represents the institution's projects. Each KaP brings together students who work together on the project, usually living in the same community housing. Their missions fall into three categories: campus animation, humanitarian and societal support, and student service.

The AKaP's mission is to help the students in the management and promotion of their project, as well as in the coordination of their activities.

Committed kots-à-projet

A KàP is a group of students who come together to defend a meaningful project that contributes to campus life or society in general. In addition to living together in the same community housing, students carry out a project that is close to their hearts. The University supports the projects both in financing activities and in promoting commitment.

At the University of Namur, 19 KàPs offer activities and actions around the following themes: the environment, social inclusion, theatrical improvisation, Belgian culture and the imaginary, sport, local consumption, board games, health, artistic activities, hosting and meetings between Belgian and international students, legal or spatial popularization, child development, welcoming LGBT young people, inclusion and the fight against precariousness, promoting sustainability around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,.....

Through its activities, AKàP therefore supports all kots-à-projets and organizes events such as KàPs week, the KàPs fair, the AkàP gala as well as parties of all kinds.

This year's AKàP committee members are: Eva Gonzo, president; Félix Blondiau, vice-president; Christophe Schelstraete, vice-president; Esteban Bernagou, treasurer; Adeline Smoos, secretary; Robin Dewez and Sarah Rosier, communications delegates; Clothilde Hautot and Thomas Graide, KàP delegates.

Each year, AKàP launches a call for projects, as it is always possible to propose the creation of a new KàP.

In order to give visibility to the actions, AKàP conducted a communication campaign in collaboration with the University of Namur during the 24-25 academic year. Each kot-à-projet had the opportunity to present its activities on the Newsroom.

This academic year 2025-2026, we will introduce you to the new kots:

  • Ceina: welcome, integration and meetings between Belgian and international students.
  • Chez Marsha: Namur LGBT youth circle.
  • Inclusio: inclusion of all people in society, interculturality, living together on campus and in society.
  • Kaptivant: culture and imagination.
  • KàP to UNIVERSEH: space popularization by students.
  • Kotédemain: promoting sustainability (SDGs).
  • Une fois Namur: creative workshops for all tastes.

Waiting for the presentation of the new kots, discover the 2024-2025 series in our previous articles.

Valuing students' extra-curricular commitment

Students' career paths are often associated with their academic commitment, namely their performance in assessments and their serious involvement in studies. And it has to be said that students' involvement in activities outside the strictly academic framework is an essential dimension of their overall training and more specifically of the development of soft skills.

Valuing the importance of this commitment is therefore a policy focus developed at the University of Namur, as a university education is also nourished by practical experience, social involvement and personal development.
