Learning outcomes

Whether you are a physicist or a chemist, you conduct research and manage projects. Knowing how to manage a project increases your chances of success and of converting your objectives into new results leading to an invention. Finding a use for this invention allows you to create value and participate in innovation while developing a marketing and commercial strategy. The Research Administration is at your disposal to support you on the path of technology transfer, even business creation and intellectual property management. The path is always exciting and access to recent and recognized tools, and maturation and pre-incubation programs, are assets for researchers whatever their future career.


Goals

The purpose of this training is to raise awareness among researchers at the Faculty of Sciences of essential cross-disciplinary skills that they will use throughout their careers, including: project management, innovation process management, analysis of marketing and commercial strategy, the technology transfer process, even the creation of companies or new activities or business units, and the management of Intellectual Property.


Content

The 12-hour theoretical course, related to the final Master's thesis of students in the Faculty of Sciences, is divided into four parts combining technical knowledge, project management, market analysis and business model definition, while also protecting the most promising results. Several recent and recognized tools and procedures are developed based on practical examples to facilitate their learning.

Teaching methods

Course assisted by a visual projection (ppt) in person.

Assessment method

Oral assessment in the form of discussions and exchanges with prior written preparation. In the case of mandatory remote assessment, the assessment will be conducted by individual videoconference (TEAMS) with a preparation period on a shared document. An answer key will be made available on WebCampus/Sigale after the assessment.
