UNamur - Southern countries scholarships: a bridge to excellence and international openness

In 2016, the University of Namur launched its very first UNamur - Southern Countries Scholarship. A program that offers students from partner universities in the South the opportunity to complete a master's degree or specialized master's of their choice in Namur for one year. A real springboard for participants, this scholarship enables them to strengthen their expertise in fields sometimes little taught in their home country, while benefiting from an enriching international experience..

Chill&Sciences - The Arctic thaw: much more than warming

During this round table discussion proposed during the Printemps des Sciences and moderated by Aline Wilmet, mediator at Confluent des Savoirs, we'll be talking with Laurent Houssiau, physicist and climatologist at UNamur and Maxime Thomas, environmental bioengineer and researcher at UCLouvain. Together, we'll discuss the general phenomenon of global warming and the role of water in it. We'll see how the thawing of permafrost is impacting the whole world and contributing to global warming. We'll talk about the Alaskan expeditions Maxime has taken part in and the phenomena observed first-hand and the speed with which climate change is observable in this part of the world.This activity is organized with the support of Wallonie Recherche

Thomas Balligand, now a lecturer at UNamur, combines his passion for basic research with teaching in histology and cytology. After a diverse background in internal medicine and research, notably at Harvard, he is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists while pursuing his work on nanobodies and their potential in immunotherapy. His desire to awaken scientific curiosity in his students illuminates his new role at the university..

FNRS 2024 calls: Focus on the naXys Institute

Professor Elio Tuci has just been awarded Research Credit funding from the FNRS. The naXys institute specializes in the analysis of complex systems, whether in astronomy and dynamic cosmology, mathematical biology, optimization in optics, economic complexity or the study of the stability and robustness of these systems. The institute is structured around 6 research axes: Space, Bio, Optics, Eco, Robust and Robotics.

EMCP Faculty: Working together to transform

In September 1961, a few professors and fifteen students inaugurated the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Namur. Later renamed the Faculté des sciences économiques, sociales et de gestion, or FSESG, in over 60 years of existence, it has trained thousands of students who have become experts and decision-makers in key fields: economics, management, communication and political science. In September 2024, it changed its name to EMCP or Faculté Économie Management Communication sciencesPo. A change of name, symbol of a visionary mutation.
