AGC Glass supports the Specularia experimental archaeology project
This is a first at the UNamur: a team of archaeologists will soon be testing an experimental protocol to reproduce the process of shaping glass in Roman times. Entitled Specularia (Latin for "glass"), this project has the support of several associations and companies, including AGC Glass Europe.

Arcadie, a new research centre in the ESPHIN institute
Arcadia is the name of an ideal society, a bucolic utopia. But it is also the name chosen by the members of a brand-new research centre at UNamur. This centre, created within the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and attached to the ESPHIN institute, questions three themes at the heart of our contemporaneity: the Anthropocene, history and utopias.

Bruno Colson: passionate historian, fascinating teacher
As a child, Bruno Colson was very fond of toy soldiers, the colorful uniforms of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, cavalry charges... From this passion, he made his profession. An expert in the history of war, he has studied contemporary questions of strategy and defense for years. On the eve of his retirement, Bruno Colson looks back on the involvement of Belgians in the Austrian troops in the 18th century with an exhibition at the Moretus Plantin University Library (BUMP). Language and climate change
"Politic tac, tic tac, le climat n'attend pas!", "A diploma but no future?", "Cop ou pas cop de tenir vos engagements" What is behind the slogans of the Youth for Climate movement? Laura Degrande, a doctoral student in languages, literature and translation, is conducting research on the wild writing of protest. During the NaLTT Institute's Spring 2023 lecture series, she will present the first results of her research.

Laura Rizzerio (Philosopher): "Why we urgently need to propose better resource management"
Laura Rizzerio is Professor of Philosophy at UNamur. Part of her research focuses on the notion of the common good. This theme was at the heart of the reflections on the occasion of the annual Chair of the Notre-Dame de la Paix University Centre, continuing an approach already begun the previous year during a research seminar. Laura Rizzerio takes a closer look at this concept and reviews the exchanges that took place.

Philippine studies: Meeting with Kerby Alvarez, former PhD student at the UNamur
This week, UNamur is hosting an international conference organized as part of the "Philippine studies" project, which aims to strengthen exchanges between Filipino and European academics. Today, Dr. Kerby Alvarez tells us about his doctoral thesis on the history of earthquakes and the socio-cultural interpretation of disasters, completed at UNamur under the supervision of Prof. Isabelle Parmentier.
