The U-BPM (User-oriented Business Process Management) project explores how artificial intelligence can serve as a bridge between different business functions within a company. This process-management-focused approach is led by Malik Schinckus as part of the Win4doc program, a doctoral thesis funded by SPW Research. In collaboration with UNamur and the consulting firm Daïmo, Malik Schinckus brings theory and practice together to improve collaboration, performance, and reflection on everyday practices in the business world.

On Thursday, March 12, students from the Master’s program in General Medicine and the Master’s program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at UNamur, as well as students from the Master’s program in Nursing at Henallux, gathered to test “Eugène’s Journey,” an immersive game created as part of the PUNCh (Namur University Pedagogy in Transition) project. This educational game was designed to strengthen communication and collaboration among future healthcare professionals. Following the gameplay phase, a structured debriefing was conducted with the students to transform the experience into a collective learning opportunity.

The University of Namur participated in the recent Belgian state visit to Norway with the aim of strengthening collaboration between Belgian and Norwegian universities on major scientific and societal challenges. The UNamur delegation consisted of Rector Annick Castiaux, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Jean-Michel Dogné, and Professor Benoît Muylkens (Department of Veterinary Medicine).

New Christian churches are experiencing spectacular growth, particularly in Africa. Catherine Guirkinger, a professor and researcher in development economics, examines this gendered phenomenon of religious conversion and the economic mechanisms underlying it. UNamur was a pioneer in creating, in 2014, an internship in General Medicine, compulsory for all bachelier 3 students. Faced with a growing shortage of general practitioners in several areas of Belgium, the University of Namur is launching a new concrete and ambitious initiative: sending bachelier 3-level trainees to medically under-resourced regions.

This condition affects more than 10% of people over the age of 65 and is characterized by a significant loss of muscle mass and strength. Charlotte Beaudart, a member of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and the NARILIS Research Institute, has made a name for herself on the international stage in recent years by contributing to a better understanding of this disease and raising awareness about it.

How can women be better protected against the risks of thrombosis associated with the contraceptive pill? Researchers from the Department of Pharmacy at UNamur have just developed an innovative prediction model that can estimate the risk of thrombosis associated with taking combined oral contraceptives at an earlier stage. The ultimate goal is to support healthcare professionals in prescribing the right pill for each patient.
