In a new publication, the European Reference Genome Atlas (ERGA) announces the success of its pilot project. This pioneering initiative has brought together a vast collaborative network of researchers and institutions in 33 countries to produce high-quality reference genomes of 98 European species. This continental effort paves the way for a new, inclusive and equitable model of biodiversity genomics.

Michaël Lobet, professor in the Department of Physics, and André Fuzfa, astrophysicist and professor in the Department of Mathematics at UNamur, have just been awarded a grant from the Wernaers Fund to develop an original scientific project: the design of a comic strip that will explore all the fascinating facets of energy. Aimed at a "student" audience, it will weave the link between science and science fiction, and will be produced thanks to the invaluable pencil strokes of illustrator Jean-Marc Dubois.

Two new Master's degree specializations are on offer from the start of the new academic year. One will provide training in general medicine, the other in the management and economics of sustainable development. Other pedagogical innovations in existing course programs are also proposed, including a course designed to train block students in the challenges of Artificial Intelligence and develop their critical thinking skills to use AI in a relevant way. Through these innovations and new features, UNamur is demonstrating its ability to constantly adapt its educational offering in response to changes in society.

An international group of researchers, including Professor Yoann Olivier from the NISM Institute at UNamur, has just published in the prestigious journal Nature. Initiated in 1969 by Pullmann and Del Re, the congress is an annual meeting to promote collaboration and friendship between Latin-speaking theoretical chemists. In its early years, European researchers were the main contributors. Subsequently, the Latin American community has made a major contribution, with the emergence of teams whose international reputation now extends far beyond our own community.We are delighted to be holding this meeting at the University of Namur, 55 years after the first CHITEL was organised in Paris, France.
