More information about the Namur Career Center Winners of the "Thesis" Award Each year, the School of Computer Science presents an award recognizing a thesis that stands out for its quality, originality, rigor, and the significance of its findings. Created in 2013 in honor of Professor Emeritus Jean Fichefet, who played a leading role in the founding and consolidation of the School of Computer Science, this award celebrates the spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship, and exploration of new fields and avenues. Since 2023, this award has been renamed and divided into two categories: Computer Science Thesis Award, Societal Impact: an award designed to promote theses distinguished by their societal relevance. The University of Namur posts encouraging results in the prestigious Positive Impact Rating (PIR), holding its own in the "Progressing" category for the second year running. With an improved score of 7.0/10, UNamur once again demonstrates its commitment to societal challenges and its pioneering role in responsible education.

Each year, UNamur's Faculty of Computer Science awards the Prix Jean Fichefet for the best master's thesis in computer science. From the 2022-2023 year, there will be two awards, which are entitled: Best Thesis Award (General Impact) and (Societal Impact).

The department is organized through the Departmental Council, which brings together all the department's professors and research assistants.The management of Bachelor's and Master's programs is handled by the Program Managers. Among other things, they are responsible for validating annual student programs (PAE) as well as admissions.

The F.R.S.-FNRS published on June 25, 2024, the list of winners of the various doctoral and postdoctoral mandates. Among them, 16 researchers from the University of Namur have obtained funding.

The list, based on bibliographic criteria, aims to provide a standardized means of identifying the world's scientific leaders.
