Bibliographical sketch:

In 2012, Tharwat MOHY EL DINE received her Master’s degree in ‘’Synthesis, Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry’’ from the University of Claude Bernard - Lyon 1 (UCBL) (Lyon, France). Afterwards (2013 to 2016), she finished her doctoral studies in Organic, Mineral and Industrial Chemistry at the University of Caen-Normandy (Caen, France) within the research group of Pr. Jacques Rouden at the Laboratoire de Chimie Moléculaire et Thioorganique (LCMT) with a PhD thesis entitled ‘’New Insights in Amide Bond Formation Mediated by Boron-Based Catalysts”. During her PhD, she studied the reactivity of heteroaryl boronic acids and ortho-substituted bis arylborinic acid as catalysts for mild amide, peptide and formamide syntheses.

In 2016, she got a postdoctoral position for one year at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) under the supervision of Prof. David Perrin at The Perrin Laboratory where she has worked on the ‘’Blaz-Schiemann Reaction, Fluorination and the Synthesis of PET Imaging Agents’’. On November 2017, she started her 2nd postdoctorate (Move-in Louvain fellowship) at the “Université de Namur” (Namur, Belgium) and is currently working on the ‘’Synthesis of Novel Heterovalent Scaffolds as Antibiofilm Agents’’.
