Bibliographical sketch:

Sydney was formed as chemical engineer at the ENSCCF (now also known as Sigma, France) and obtained Master degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the Université Blaise Pascal (Clermont-Ferrand, France) in 2013.

He then moved to Namur, Belgium to work as assistant in chemistry at the UNamur. He started his PhD thesis under the supervision of Pr. Stéphane Vincent in the field of medicinal chemistry. He spent his 6 years studying the inhibition of the mycobacterial cell wall of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by synthesizing new “drug-like” molecules bearing heterocycles and various functions. He also taught Organic Chemistry at the University of Namur to students (from 1st year to Master 2 levels).

He got his PhD in October 15th, 2018 with a thesis of title "Synthetic derivatives of natural polyphenols targeting the mycobacterial cell wall".
