Learning outcomes

For the end-of-cycle personal projects (TFC) associated with the UE ‘Research Student’ each student must: propose a research question or demonstrate that they understand and have taken ownership of the proposed research question. The student conducts a thorough review of the literature. They carry out research activities (in the laboratory and, where applicable, in the field), generate and collect data, analyse it and produce a piece of work that can be submitted for publication (at least an abstract for a conference poster). For Research + , the work is written in English and the oral presentation of the work is in English.

Goals

Learn through active participation in a study what scientific research involves and how to write a scientific publication in English.

Content

The student carries out a research project under the supervision of a sponsor, which may last for the whole academic year.

Teaching methods

Active participation in research under the supervision of a researcher.

Assessment method

Assessment according to the research schedule, i.e. once the research has been completed and the report submitted, either at the end of the second or third term. The period will be determined by the student and the researcher supervising them, depending on the progress of the research. A report presenting the main results of the research and an oral presentation (in English) presenting the main results of the research serve as the basis for a discussion with the jury.
