Learning outcomes

For the end-of-cycle personal projects (TFC) associated to the UE ‘Research Student’, each student must: propose a research question or demonstrate that he/she understand the proposed research question. The student conducts a review of the literature. He/she carry out research activities (in the laboratory and, where applicable, in the field), generate and collect data, analyse it and produce work that can be submitted for publication (at least an abstract for a conference poster).

Goals

Learn, through active participation in a study, what scientific research and writing a scientific article involve.

Content

The student carries out a research project under the supervision of a sponsor, which may last for the whole academic year.

Teaching methods

Active participation in research under the supervision of a researcher.

Assessment method

Student Researcher is assessed according to the research timetable, i.e. once the research has been completed and the report submitted, i.e. at the end of the 2nd or 3rd term. The period will be determined by the student and the supervising researcher, depending on the progress of the research. A report presenting the main results of the research serves as a basis for discussion with the jury.
