Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to

- understand simple texts (written and spoken) in everyday language

- produce simple coherent texts on familiar topics

- in terms of oral production, communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities.

- identify and explain grammatical phenomena, particularly in short literary texts

- identify and explain grammatical phenomena from a variety of written texts.

Content

Learning the Italian language. Phonetics, nominal and verbal morphology (all conjugations; noun and adjective classes; regular and irregular plurals; adjectives and pronouns) and some elements of syntax of the simple sentence in Italian; commonly used lexicon.

Teaching methods

Lecture (15 hours), accompanied by exercises (60 hours). The theoretical course of 15 hours is devoted to the explanation of the basics of Italian grammar (verbal and nominal morphology, elements of syntax of the simple sentence). The 60-hour practical course consists of : - grammar exercises - written (essays, summaries) and oral production (short dialogues between students and presentations on specific and familiar topics, linked to vocabulary and grammar already acquired) - reading and listening comprehension - pronunciation and reading aloud exercises

Assessment method

- A partial written examination in January - A written and oral exam in June - A written and oral exam in August, if you fail the June session The modalities, weighting and evaluation criteria are described in a separate document which will be available on WebCampus and presented to the class at the beginning of the year.
