Its functions

As a member of the Rector's Council, he

  • Works collegially with the other members of the Rector's Council to establish the priority lines of the strategic plan and to translate them into operational objectives.
  • Makes sure to provide the Rector's Council and the Board of Directors with the information that falls within his functions and is necessary for them.

Student Affairs

Student Affairs concerns students and includes:

  • development of institutional policy proposals related to the portfolio;
  • investigation and follow-up of files related to students' extra-academic and para-academic activities;
  • management of social and medico-psychological aid; issues related to student housing; special situations such as foreign students, with special needs

Quality of campus life

The Quality of Campus Life component aims to ensure a respectful, inclusive and fulfilling environment for the entire university community - students, teachers, administrative and technical staff. It covers in particular:

  • the development of institutional policies related to campus life: cultural, sporting, civic activities, catering, chaplaincy, events;
  • defining the fundamental orientations and objectives of the University Community Life Service (VéCU) as well as establishing its master plan;
  • promoting a high-quality, accessible university catering offer;
  • support for cultural policy (communication, socio-cultural events) and sporting events, including the provision of sports facilities;
  • the development of inclusive policies that respect dignity and diversity: gender, anti-discrimination, harassment prevention, promotion of parity, diversity, cultural and religious plurality, equity;
  • the implementation of training, awareness campaigns, reporting protocols, prevention and support procedures for victims of harassment or discrimination, in line with institutional best practice.
  • a cross-functional monitoring and advisory role: the Vice-Rector also pays particular attention to projects and dossiers handled by his/her colleagues on the Rector's Council, in order to draw their attention to quality of life dimensions and ensure that every decision takes into account the respect, inclusion and well-being of the university community. This mission is carried out in coherence and synergy with the development of the University's "values" project, in order to anchor these principles at the heart of all institutional policies and actions.
