Short description | Our Western yet global societies are currently facing unprecedented and urgent challenges that would require deep transformations to bring them back on a sustainable track. Research and researchers are an integral part of these challenges and can act as leverage points in order to foster these transformations. For this to happen, research practices should be questioned, and researchers have to be aware of their implication in society, no matter what research they undertake. In this presentation, I will argue these statements further and plead for an explicitly engaged research posture that could be called "enlightened activism", following the principles of post-normal science. |
