"Employers and/or funders should ensure that a reference person is clearly identified whom early-career researchers can consult in the performance of their professional duties, and should inform researchers accordingly.
These arrangements should clearly state that the proposed supervisor(s)/supervisor(s) have sufficient expertise in research supervision, have the time, knowledge, experience, expertise and commitment to provide adequate support to the researcher in training, and provide for the necessary promotion and review procedures and feedback mechanisms".
