Transversal skills training

"Soft or social skills refer to all the skills that the person uses in addition to the scientific and technical skills (hard skills) specific to his or her profession". At least 5 credits (or ECTS = European Credit Transfer System) must be acquired for these courses. These credits are counted in the "Courses" category of your doctoral programme. Midis de l'ADRE: they are aimed primarily at researchers. Average duration: 1 hour, between 1 and 2 pm, free registration, sandwiches offered.

SRH training catalogue: intended for all staff. Average duration: 1 to 2 days. Free registration subject to the agreement of your promoter.

Midis de la Qualité : Open to all. Average duration : 1 hour, between 1 and 2 pm, free registration. These trainings introduce you to practical tools to solve issues or take a logic decision in your work.

Calculation of the number of credits granted for these courses
 


These credits must be validated by your support committee and by the doctoral guidance committee to which you belong. This is not an automatic validation. Moreover, the number of credits may be fixed in advance by the organisers of the activity.

 

Possible number of credits per type of transverse activity (non-exhaustive list):

  • Language course: see number of credits awarded for the course
  • Language course + successful assessment: see number of credits awarded for the course + 1 ECTS
  • ADRE lunch: 0.125 or 0.25 ECTS (1 or 2 hours)
  • My thesis in 180 seconds: 3 ECTS
  • U2ES: depending on the modules (3 or 4 credits/module), if more than 10 credits in total => maximum 10 credits
  • Publication workshop: 1 credit/day
  • Training offered by the SRH of UNamur: to be seen on a case by case basis
