Transversal skills training

"Soft or social skills refer to all the skills that the person uses in addition to the scientific and technical skills (hard skills) specific to his or her profession". At least 5 credits (or ECTS = European Credit Transfer System) must be acquired for these courses. These credits are counted in the "Courses" category of your doctoral programme. Here is a list of the trainings proposed by the UNamur.

Other kinds of training :

Midis de l'ADRE: they are aimed primarily at researchers. Average duration: 1 hour, between 1 and 2 pm, free registration, sandwiches offered.

SRH training catalogue: intended for all staff. Average duration: 1 to 2 days. Free registration subject to the agreement of your promoter.

Midis de la Qualité : Open to all. Average duration : 1 hour, between 1 and 2 pm, free registration. These trainings introduce you to practical tools to solve issues or take a logic decision in your work.

Pôle Académique de Namur : Form@Nam and "le Pôle Académique de Namur" have decided to create an awareness-raising programme about developping a business spirit in order to complete the training offer of the university. This programme is supported by Sowalfin.

The 2nd edition of the T'M project (Team Mentoring) whose activities will be grouped (1 per month until May). More information at the bottom of this email or on https://www.teammentorship.be/

Calculation of the number of credits granted for these courses

These credits must be validated by your support committee and by the doctoral guidance committee to which you belong. This is not an automatic validation. Moreover, the number of credits may be fixed in advance by the organisers of the activity.

Possible number of credits per type of transverse activity (non-exhaustive list):

Language course: see number of credits awarded for the course
Language course + successful assessment: see number of credits awarded for the course + 1 ECTS
ADRE lunch: 0.125 or 0.25 ECTS (1 or 2 hours)
My thesis in 180 seconds: 3 ECTS
U2ES: depending on the modules (3 or 4 credits/module), if more than 10 credits in total => maximum 10 credits
Publication workshop: 1 credit/day
Training offered by the SRH of UNamur: to be seen on a case by case basis
