How much does an access card cost for an external user?
- Standard annual card: €2.50
- Access + services:
- about 15 € (high school students)
- approximately €20 (other users)
- UNamur staff and students: free (staff ID or student ID)
How long is the card valid?
- External students: academic year
- Other users: 1 year
Can I access the library without a permanent card?
Yes, with a temporary card:
- 1 day: €2.50
- 7 days: €5

Borrowing Books from the Law Library
How many books can you borrow from the UNamur Law Library?
- Students and external users: Borrowing is limited to a maximum of 3 books, provided you have a valid library card. Temporary cards (1-day or 5-day) do not allow you to borrow books.
- Staff members: unlimited number (subject to conditions)
How long can books be borrowed for?
- Students / external users: one evening or one weekend
- Staff: Loans available for up to 2 months
Can a loan be renewed?
Yes, book loans can be renewed once, either in person, by email or phone, or through your account in the library catalog.
Which books cannot be borrowed?

What happens if I return an item late?
A late return results in:
- a fine of €0.50 per day per book
- suspension of borrowing privileges in case of non-payment
- an extended suspension in case of repeat offenses
Who is responsible for borrowed books?
Each user is personally responsible for the books they borrow and must cover the costs in the event of loss or damage.

Can all materials be viewed on-site?
Yes, all materials can be consulted on-site, including those in the stacks, which require a request at the circulation desk.
How do I access a book from the stacks?
You must go to the front desk with:
- your library card
- the item’s reference (call number and title)

Can we make photocopies at the law library?
Yes, the library provides self-service photocopiers for users.
Is it possible to print or scan documents?

What are the rates for printing, photocopying, and scanning services?

- Black-and-white photocopies are charged at €0.05 per side.
