The Assembly of Project-Based Student Housing Units, more commonly known as AKàP, is a body within the General Student Assembly of the University of Namur (AGE) that represents the project-based student housing units and projects without student housing at the University of Namur.

The Assembly of Project Houses (AKàP)

The Assembly of Project-Based Dorms (AkàP) is led by a committee made up of several students. Their mission is to assist the project-based dorms with their management and promotion, as well as with the coordination of their activities. The AkàP supports students with their projects and also organizes events such as Kàps Week, the Kàps Fair, the AkàP Gala, and all kinds of parties!

Committed project-based student housing

A “kot-à-projet” is a group of students who come together to champion a meaningful project that contributes to campus life or, more broadly, to society. In addition to living together in a shared residence, the students carry out a project that is close to their hearts. The University supports these projects both by funding their activities and by promoting student engagement. At the University of Namur, there are about ten project-based student housing groups, and it’s also possible to start a new one with a group of friends.

Themes of the project-based student housing include: the environment, social inclusion, improvisational theater, sports, supporting local businesses, board games, health, artistic activities, and more.

Let's head to the KàPs

To raise awareness of the activities of the various project-based student housing groups, the AKàP conducted a communications campaign in collaboration with the University of Namur. Each project-based student housing group had the opportunity to showcase its activities on the Newsroom.
