Veterinary medicine is a discipline at the intersection of medicine, biology, agronomy, and pharmacy. It focuses on the collective and individual health of farm and companion animals, as well as its implications for the environment, human health, and society.

At the forefront of managing public health issues and monitoring contagious diseases, veterinarians are also a driving force in human and animal biomedical research. In this sense, veterinary medicine is an indispensable link in global health.

I have a special interest in animals. I think they are indispensable to mankind and I'd like to help keep them healthy. As well as giving us lessons, our teachers are very involved in the practice of the profession. They often have anecdotes to tell us, and we feel at ease because we can easily see where our theoretical knowledge will come in handy. Training at UNamur is very comprehensive. Whether it's study or folklore, the University of Namur is the place to be.

Everything is close at hand at UNamur, and you can go from one faculty to another in a matter of minutes. In VT, we have our own dissection room. The first dissection is an important step in a vet's life: you realize whether or not you're cut out for this profession. Studying allows us to grow, take on more responsibility and become independent in our future profession. I almost don't want to leave them, they make me feel so at home!
