2D materials

Our research aims at the investigation of the synthesis of 2D materials, in particular transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) materials as MoS2 and WS2. Another axis is the theoretical study of electronic properties of stacking of 2D material layers.
MoS2 synthesis
The synthesis of MoS2 nanosheets using a simple two-step additive-free growth technique is reported by direct sulfurization of metal oxide powders or films.
Electronic properties of transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMD)
The electronic properties of TMD are investigated using ab-initio and semi-empirical methods. A special emphasize is put on the effects that defects may have on the electronic structure of TMD monolayers.
