Getting in and around Namur

Public transport

A great majority of shops and services are accessible on foot in the town centre or nearby. However, if you need to go further than the centre, for example to access hospitals or bigger supermarkets, buses are available. There isn’t a tramway or metro network in Namur, so buses are the way to get about by public transport.

All bus lines go through the train station square. On this same square, at number 25, you  can find the "Maison de la Mobilité". They have all the necessary information concerning  schedules, prices and special and combined offers.

Li Bia Velo

This is a service offered by the Town Administration to allow anyone to rent/ hire bikes. There are about twenty spots spread all over the town centre and the surroundings, and at each of these spots you can rent a bike for a very reasonable price. See more details about how to proceed, on the following website:

The University of Namur provides you free passes. Further information at the Reception Desk or at the secretariat of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.

"Cambio" (Car-sharing system)

This car-sharing system is well established in Namur. After signing up, you can rent/hire a car at one of the various stations or stopping points in Namur, but also everywhere in  Belgium.

There are a number of taxi companies in Namur. The taxi station is opposite the main entrance of the train station.

"Les Namourettes"

During the warm season, these charming little boats will give you a chance to go back and forth between Namur and Jambes, with different stopping points to choose from. Schedules, prices, routes, days of service:

From Namur, you can acces all Belgian towns and main cities of neighbouring countries by train.
