The University of Namur fights against gender-based discrimination by setting up the Gender group in 2011, then in 2013 by creating a Vice-Rector in charge of developing this policy. Within Annick Castiaux's rectoral team, François-Xavier Fiévez, Vice-Rector, is in charge of Diversity and Gender. The rectoral team intends to assert its determination to maintain voluntary and reasoned policies in this area.

Within the Vie de la Communauté Universitaire (VéCU) service, the Cellule sociale offers various financial interventions based on specific criteria and according to your situation (nationality, assimilation, academic, family and financial).

The Faculty of Computer Science, via its teachers and researchers, is very active internationally: internationally recognized research groups, organization of research seminars to which scientists from other universities are invited in order to promote new research horizons, mobility of our researchers which starts right from the start of their thesis when they travel abroad to take part in international congresses.

It’s impossible to forget the Namur Law School once you’ve studied there! The bonds formed between students, professors, and researchers extend far beyond the classroom. This spirit of solidarity and openness is at the heart of the Namur Law School Alumni Association (ADANam), which offers graduates a special space to stay in touch and share their professional journeys.

Interdisciplinarity and a close connection to the field are at the core of the University Observatory on Rural Medicine. Several research projects have been launched with the aim of contributing to a better understanding of the factors driving the shortage of general practitioners in rural areas and of identifying concrete solutions to address this shortage. 

Since 2023, the UNamur University Observatory on Rural Medicine (OUMRu) has been addressing the issue of the dwindling supply of general practitioners, particularly in underserved areas of Wallonia, with the aim of identifying potential solutions in collaboration with stakeholders on the ground. Closely linked to the Master’s degree in General Practice, offered as a joint program with UCLouvain, the OUMRu carries out activities in the areas of teaching and interdisciplinary research. It also organizes events that give a voice to stakeholders on the ground. 

The Department of Medicine is equipped with an anatomy laboratory and a clinical teaching support laboratory.Other research entities belonging to the Faculty of Medicine are transversal and also rely on collaboration with UCL Godinne University Hospital within the Namur Institute for Life Sciences (Narilis) research institute.
