"After eight years dedicated to developing international relations at the University of Namur—first as a project manager for international development (2017–2021), then as vice-rector for international relations (2021–2025)— I had the pleasure of participating in the Erasmus+ program at the University of Innsbruck from May 25 to 29, 2026.
As part of the growing collaboration between our two institutions, this visit allowed me to teach several courses on recent developments in sociolinguistics, European language policies, and language-related challenges in education in Belgium, as well as to present a new course titled “Language and Colonialism,” launched at UNamur in September 2026.
My interactions with students, doctoral candidates, and colleagues in Innsbruck were particularly enriching and fully demonstrated the value of international academic dialogue.
I would like to extend my warmest thanks to my colleagues at the University of Innsbruck for their hospitality and their time. These meetings helped strengthen already solid academic ties and open up new avenues for cooperation in teaching and research.
As part of the Erasmus+ exchanges and the specific agreement with the University of Innsbruck, we also had the pleasure of welcoming several colleagues to Namur: Monnika Dannerer (in 2019), Dirk Rose (in 2020), and Julia Königs (in 2026)."
