Work-in-progress seminar (WIP)

The WIP is a seminar dedicated to the discussion of ongoing research in philosophy of science. It provides a framework for presenting developing ideas, confronting hypotheses and benefiting from constructive critical feedback in a collaborative research logic.

Coordinators: Doan Vu Duc and Louis Halflants

PhiloBioM

The PhiloBioM seminar is a forum for interdisciplinary exchange and reflection on cross-disciplinary themes that fall broadly within the field of philosophy of life sciences, ecology and biomedical sciences, and that are linked, closely or remotely, to health issues. The aim is to bring academics together around issues with high social and societal stakes, to enable everyone to learn about the work being carried out within the University and beyond, and thus to foster potential collaborations.

Coordinators: Gaëlle Pontarotti and Juliette Ferry-Danini

Seminar on Philosophy of Astronomy (SPA)

The SPA is the place where views on advances in astronomy and cosmology intersect. Philosophical and historical viewpoints join technical discourses to question scientific positioning.

Coordinators: Eve-Aline Dubois and Charly Mobeurs

Emergence

The "emergence" seminar is devoted to talks by international guests working on the theme of emergence and reductionism in the natural sciences.

Coordinators: Maxime Hilbert and Gauvain Leconte-Chevillard
