About

Biography

Lucas graduated with a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering in June 2024, following his Bachelor's degree in Physics Engineering with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Liège.
During his studies, he participated in the AIAA design competition and worked as a student monitor for the finite element method course.

On October 1st, 2024, Lucas became a teaching assistant in the Department of Physics at the University of Namur and joined the PhD program in Physics as part of the LPS team. With a background in aerospace engineering and space science, his research focuses on the application of metamaterials and metasurfaces for next-generation spacecraft design, with a particular emphasis on thermal control, stray light reduction, and enhanced optical systems.

When he’s not grading student assignments or gazing at the stars, you might find him writing his science fiction novel—or perhaps playing video games with friends.
