Adrien Debacq
About
Biography
Adrien completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physics and pursued a Master’s degree with an advanced specialization. During his Master's, he explored the relationship between the symmetry of photonic crystals, Dirac cones, and near-zero-index (NZI) media.
In 2023, Adrien completed an internship at Sparrow Quantum, where he contributed to the design of integrated photonic circuits for single-photon generation using quantum dots.
In October 2023, he began his PhD with an FNRS fellowship. His research focuses on the fundamental study of laser dynamics in near-zero-index media and the design of NZI laser cavities, in collaboration with DTU. He also works on numerical modeling of the near field and contributes to the study of near-field phenomena in NZI materials.
When he's not deep in equations or simulations, Adrien can be found on the basketball court, coaching and sharing his love for the game. And if he's not there, chances are he's immersed in a video game, pulling off clutch plays—whether on the virtual court or in a whole other universe.
