Throughout the year, information sessions are organized by program directors, faculty mobility coordinators, and the Office of International Relations to help you learn about international exchange opportunities, destinations, and funding options.
These sessions are held at key points in the academic year:
- Start of the academic year: information provided during the orientation sessions
- Student Testimonial Evening: November 4, 2026
- Faculty information sessions: first half of November
- Meetings with exchange students from your faculty: early January
Apply
The call for applications for study abroad programs in Flanders, Europe, and other destinations outside Europe opens in mid-December. Interested students will receive a link to the online application form from their faculty coordinators. The application period closes in mid-February.
Selection takes place during February and March.
The call for applications for training programs in Flanders, Europe, and other destinations outside Europe is open year-round.
To be considered, applications must be submitted via the Mobility Online platform
no later than June 30
- for a stay in Flanders or within the European Union during Q1 of the following academic year
- for a stay in other destinations outside Europe during Q2 of the following academic year
no later than September 30
- for a stay in Flanders or within the European Union during Q2 of the following academic year
Graduate Students
Doctoral students who wish to apply for a long- or short-term research stay must submit their application no later than 2 months before the expected departure date if the host institution is located in a third country associated with the program:
- no later than 2 months before the estimated date of departure if the host institution is located in a third country associated with the program.
Short-term mobility
Applications for course-based stays (short-term hybrid mobility or short-term intensive programs) are accepted only for activities pre-selected by the departments in consultation with the Office of International Relations.
