Biology is the science of life.

From the cell to the ecosystem, it studies all forms of life. It is essential for understanding complex societal issues related to the environment, health, and sustainable development.

Biology Programs at UNamur

The Department of Biology at UNamur offers you a cutting-edge, modern, diverse, and internationally oriented scientific education

The bachelor’s program allows you to acquire, over the course of three years, the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to begin a master’s program.

You can choose between a master’s in Organismal Biology and Ecology (BOE), a master’s in Molecular Microbiology (MMM), and a master’s in Biomedical Sciences. You can also opt for a 60-credit master’s program, allowing you to complete your graduate studies in a single year.

It is also possible to continue your education by pursuing a Ph.D. in one of our four research units

They're talking to you about biology

I chose to study biology to understand the workings of the human body and human-nature interactions. What's more, in Namur you have a very close relationship with the teachers. They're very approachable. I chose to be an ambassador to pass on my experience to future students, and also to guide them through the adventure that is university.

To start studying biology, you need to be passionate about living organisms, and enjoy asking questions to understand how they function, behave and evolve in relation to the environment. You have to get to grips with the subjects right from the start, and manage to balance work and leisure. Personally, I study best in the quiet of the library.
